How to make the most of your booking engine

Do you already have a booking engine that takes care of all your online bookings? If so, how can you make the most out of this tool to create a bigger impact in your business?

An online booking software can play a vital role in growing your business if you know how to leverage on this powerful tool.

Here are a few ideas.

1. Streamline your booking process for better customer experience

Connect all the steps that take your customers through the research, booking and payment processes. You want to create a booking journey that takes away unnecessary friction between your customers' credit card and a booked tour.

With a booking system, your online booking or reservation process should be no more than a click away from your tour and activity pages and shows customers your availabilities in real time. Integrating the booking engine with your website and a payment gateway is the most efficient way to completing a booking.

Also, make sure that tour booking forms are short and concise, so that customers don't end up wasting time filling out irrelevant details about themselves.

Take action today: Why not go through the booking process yourself to understand what your customers go through? Make a note of all the little steps and details that annoyed or frustrated you. You could also ask a friend or colleague to test out your booking system while you observe them and take notes, and then ask them for feedback when they're done. Review your notes and think about how you could make this process better, faster, easier.

Make it easy for customers to book with you

2. Equip your team with the tools they need to sell better

Your booking software should come with multiple booking desks that you can use to take a booking anytime, anywhere. This comes in really handy when you want to increase sales by partners, resellers or agents.

Take TrekkSoft as an example, apart from integrating a booking system with your website, we also provide a Booking Desk, Sales Desk, a Point-Of-Sales Desk and a mobile app. This allows business owners to equip their sales teams with the right tools to take a booking or payment anytime.

The best part is that all the bookings and reservations taken from multiple booking desks are seamlessly synced to and managed from your booking engine, giving you an overview of your sales and making it easier for you to manage your team.

Take action today: Get your sales team to test out the booking desks that come along with your booking engine. With a system like TrekkSoft, you can assign as many booking desks as you like to as many sales rep as you like, and keep track of how your team is performing at the end of each month.

3. Increase average booking value by upselling your services

You can increase average sales and revenue by displaying add-ons during the booking process. These could be value added services that enhance the overall experience of your tour or activity, for example, photo packages for scuba diving or discounted tickets to attractions you'll be visiting during the tour.

Alternatively, you could also set up your online shop to sell souvenirs and even gift vouchers for customers to pass on to their friends and family.

Take action today: Experiment with one or two add-ons for your most popular tours to see how customers respond to this complimentary product. If the response is positive, then continue adding offers to other tours and building local partnerships to deliver better experiences to your customers.
